Members of the Lismore Italian Seniors Day Club celebrated Italy’s National (Republic) Day. Festa della Republica is June 2. It commemorates the referendum votes for a Republic in 1946.
The Day Club is hosted by St Carthage’s Community Care and offers social outings, a variety of weekly activities and a hearty meal that build camaraderie, friendship and Italian spirit.
They had a great cake to start the celebrations complete with a chocolate map of Italy designed by care support worker John Maloney who also took the photo.
