“Michele Grigoletti was a guest of Historic New Italy for the 8th anniversary celebrations of Italian settlement at New Italy south of Woodburn. He is a Councillor of ComitEs NSW which is a representative body of Italians abroad supporting the social, cultural and civil development needs of the Italian NSW community. He has represented NSW at the Veneto Regional Council of the Veneto Region and is particularly interested in Italian and youth migration for the northern rivers. He works with members of the local committees and Italian residents and used his visit to catch up with the participants at the annual celebration at the New Italy Museum complex. He caught up with Lismore based Peter Bortolin who played an important role in establishing Lismore City Council’s sister city relationship with Conegliano and Vittorio Veneto in 1991 encouraging opportunities to build links for educational, sporting, business and cultural exchanges. Michele will return in June to attend the 2019 Lismore Friendship Festival’s Piazza in the Park to acknowledge the connections made over the years.”
